HISTORIC AUTOMOBILE ROAD RACING IS ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING SPORTS IN THE UNITED STATES AND EUROPE.
Inspiration for Strada Corsa Houston comes from major signature events, such as Monterey Car Week, which attracts 85,000+ spectators. Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix with 250,000 spectators and England's Goodwood Revival, which caps its attendance at 150,000. The preservation and racing of these great cars is a common objective of the twenty member clubs of the Vintage Motorsport Council. There is a great variety in the various clubs and the types of events that they host. Automobile eligibility, racing venues and tracks are highly variable. There is a club to meet everyone’s desire in vintage racing!
Vintage, or historic, road racing can be found from coast-to-coast in the USA, including Canada, with events virtually year round. In 1988, it was recognized that there was a need to help support and coordinate the fast-growing sport of vintage racing. The Vintage Motorsports Council (VMC) was formed as a council for all the independent clubs devoted to the sport.
Strada Corsa Houston will annually feature eight race groups, with two of them being “invitational”. For 2018, the BREXIT Challenge will pit cars of Great Britain against those of the European continent! Envision Alfa Romeos and Porsches on the edge, attempting to dive deep into the corners past Jaguars and big Austin Healeys! A full grid will ensure great wheel-to-wheel racing.
